In Loving Memory

Charles Sant’Agata, Past President of the Hanford Lodge #1543, as well as the United Lodges of the San Joaquin Valley, was called to his peaceful reward on February 16, 2022, after a short illness. Charles (Chuck , Charlie) whatever one called him, loved God, his family, his country, his Italian heritage and the many friends he made along the way in his dealings with the numerous organizations he led through the years. He was born on October 10, 1935, in Fresno, California. He was initiated into the Hanford Lodge on October 8, 2008. He enjoyed immensely the several terms he served as President. He was a delegate to the State Convention for many years and was appointed to a committee to find a place for the future home of the Grand Lodge. (He was sad that a solution was never accomplished). Charles helped the Hanford Lodge diligently with fundraisers. At its first drive-thru spaghetti and meatball dinner/sauce sale, he stood at the curb in front of the Hanford Fraternal pointing in the direction one should enter the line to pick up dinners!! When leaving for home after the event, he took with him 50 quarts of sauce to deliver to family and friends in the Fresno and Clovis areas. Currently, he was State Deputy to the Rodolfo Valentino Lodge of Clovis and faithfully attended their meetings whenever it was possible for them to meet through the pandemic. He will truly be missed by all!! Charles is survived by Joyce, his wife of 53 years; two daughters, Lisa Stockton and Monica (Anthony Mercurio),;six grandchildren: Nicolina, Rocco and Giuliana Stockton; Domenic, Giovanni and Gemma.

In Loving Memory

Daniel Dattola, Past Vice-President of the Hanford Lodge #1543 and also Past President of the United Lodges of the San Joaquin Valley, passed away on September 9, 2021, in Fresno, California. Members of the Hanford Lodge had not heard from Danny through the months of the pandemic. In January, President Michael Leoni decided to check up on him, finding that he had passed away several months hefore Danny will leave a void in our Lodge and in the lives of all who knew him. He was born on September 5, 1944, and joined the Hanford Lodge on July 20, 2004. He served several terms as Vice-president and was also a delegate to the State Convention for many years (being very vocal in his convictions. He also spent some time as State Deputy for the Enrico Caruso Lodge of Visalia. Generosity was his special trait!!. He donated to all causes, including scholarships, the Valley Children’s Hospital and Queen contests. He loved buying lots of raffle tickets!! Being extremely lucky, he won many prizes each time a raffle was held, then gifted them to others. He served several terms as President of the United Lodges of the San Joaquin and was honored for his service on May 15, 2015. He will never be forgotten by the members of the Hanford Lodge or the members of the United Lodges of the San Joaquin Valley. Riposa In pace!!
