Message From the 1st Vice President

 Dear Brothers and Sisters.

In March I prepared for the Grand Council meetings, March 17, 18, 2023, held at the Centinela Valley Lodge #1991 Hall, Torrance, CA.

As State First Vice President I was asked to preside as president for the two days meetings of the grand council by State President Barbara Fumosa Wisniewski. Unfortunately, her husband Ken is going through treatment, and she needed to be with him. However, President Barbara was able to join our meetings on zoom. Our prayers go up for Ken as well as Barbara in this difficult time in their lives.

Friday, March 17, 2023, meeting of the State Trustees was at 1:30pm with the trustees doing the audit of the various grand lodge accounts. Questions answered by State Financial Secretary David Lavezzari and State Recording Secretary Lori Rossi.

Following the Trustees audit meeting at 3:30pm was the Executive Council Confidential meeting. Minutes were approved from the September 16,

2022, executive meeting. Following with discussing Old and New Business.

Saturday, March 18, 2023, at 9:30am, was the opening of the Grand Council Meeting. The Invocation was given by Lori Rossi; Pledge of Allegiance, by David Lavezzari; Roll Call of officers by, Lori Rossi. There was approval of minutes from the Grand Council meeting September 17, 2022, following with the presentation of Grand Lodge Committee Reports.

At the closing of the Grand Council meeting, the Western Foundation meeting was extended by Mark Rossi, CAO. The approval of the minutes from September 17, 2022, was followed with committee reports.

There was an hour lunch break of delicious sandwiches, salads, dessert with all the trimmings served by Annette Porter and Brian Singuglia, members of the Centinela Valley Lodge #1991.

The Grand Council meeting continued after lunch with more Committee reports: Unfinished business; discussing Digitizing Il Leone. New Business: Purchase of new building; Convention 2023. State Recording Secretary Lori Rossi will send all pertinent information on rooms and dinners to the state delegates. ( A friendly reminder; that we must meet our room numbers or we get charged for the vacancies!)

During Good and Welfare of the Order: A few officers had nice comments! With no future business, the meeting was adjourned.

Fraternally, until next month.
