Message from the 1st Vice President

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
With regret I was unable to attend the March Grand Council Meeting due to medical procedures I had done. I am doing much better each day and by the end of May should be back to normal and able to travel!
It is hard to believe our State Grand Convention is next month (June). I am looking forward to attending, in person. It has been a long time coming!
I know this month my fellow officers will be reporting on the activities and informative information on the Grand Council meeting. I am looking forward reading to their news report of the meeting.
On March 22, 2022, I forwarded a letter by National President, Robert Bianchi, Esq. that I received from our National office to all Lodge Presidents, State Officers and Past State Presidents, and State Committee Chairpersons. Hopefully, time has been taken to share the informative information from our National President. I cannot stress enough the importance of sharing all information I e-mail to ALL. Members are always asking what does National do for us?? Well, if you take the time to read the information shared with you that I receive from National, you will know what National is doing!!
Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, D.C., the Sons of Italy Foundation event this year is: the 33rd National Education and Leadership Awards NELA Gala. They will be awarding over $100,000 in scholarships to the best and brightest Italian American students in our country. The honorees will be the Honorable Rosa DeLauro, Lidia Matticchio Bastianich, Angelo Vivolo, and Lurie Serricchio Hollander.
SIF event helps with the funding of our philanthropy – with programs such as disaster relief, Our Military Heroes (vans given to our nation’s severely injured military veteran’s).
The Master of Ceremonies will once again be award-winning actor Joe Mantegena and entertained by The Sicilian Tenors.
     Ciao - Until next month
