Message From the State President

I am hoping that all our April showers (and snowstorms) have turned to lovely May flowers. This has certainly been a difficult winter for many of our members. Our hearts go out to the many members in the Central Valley that had to deal with the historic flooding. The snow in our mountains caused much damage to houses and businesses in the area. Northern and Southern California had record rain and flooding as well. Northern Nevada has had to deal with continuous snow and rain. Living in the high desert we are just not accustomed to dealing with this new climate.

I would like to address a little business this month. All Lodges have received their per capita. If there were any overdue charges, those invoices were also sent. Please reach out to the Grand Lodge if the Financial Secretaries have not received this. These financial responsibilities must be met as soon as possible. If there are any problems meeting these responsibilities, please contact me or our Grand Lodge Financial Secretary, David Lavezzari. Both numbers are listed on page two.

By now all our Lodges have had elections (October/November 2022). The names of all the elected officers need to be submitted to the Grand Lodge office.

If we don’t have the correct information, we will not be able to communicate with your Lodge. Don’t forget to also send that information to our Media Chair, Debbie Ure and our Webmaster Anna Graeber, whose email addresses are also on page two.

All the elections for delegates to the Grand Convention should have been held in February. The names of the elected delegates need to be sent to the Grand Lodge office. We cannot send credentials to nameless people, and you cannot sit in the delegate section or vote at Convention without credentials.

Thank you all for cooperating in these matters. We cannot function as an organization if each Lodge does what they want regardless of the Bylaws. If you have forgotten the new address, it is:

Grand Lodge of CA OSDIA
P.O. Box 2467
Fairfield, CA 94533

We still do not have an office manager for the Grand Lodge. I hope to be working on that this month. Please be patient with our Recording Secretary, Lori Rossi. She is only one person doing two jobs.

I want to give a big thank you to the Renaissance Lodge and its President, Fred Fasenelli, for inviting me to attend a portion of their meeting via Zoom. I have missed seeing all my members because I have not been able to travel. As your President, I feel that you are my members and I have missed our interaction.

I would love to visit your Lodge via Zoom. Please reach out to me if you would like me to attend.

I am looking forward to our Convention next month. Our plan is to make it interesting, educational, and fun.

Till next month

Fraternally

Barbara
