Northern Solano Lodge # 2534

We are hoping everyone had a very happy holiday season – a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year. December was a busy month for Northern Solano Lodge members.  On December 7th, our kitchen crew and members cooked and served 140 guests at the Adult Recreation Center Holiday Luncheon. Later in the month, our Lodge members enjoyed a potluck Christmas party in place of our monthly meeting. We truly have many talented cooks! Entertainment was provided by Northern Solano Lodge Member, Riccardo Marracino and a local vocalist Hayley Green.

We kicked off January with intense planning for our annual Crab Feed fundraiser held on January 27th.  About 180 diners enjoyed a delicious meal of salad, pasta and, of course, crab. Our head chef, Lori Rossi, and her crew outdid themselves with additional appetizer plates before we started dinner. A basket raffle, silent auction and dessert auction chaired by Lauretta Graham rounded out the evening. Musical selections were provided by our own Riccardo Marracino and his friend Sheri Mignano Crawford, a talented accordionist. Our servers this year were seniors from the Fairfield Public Safety Academy. They were fantastic and were very attentive. This event was very labor intensive, but it truly was a “work of heart”. Many hands were needed, and many stepped up.

Northern Solano Lodge also celebrated its 41st Anniversary on January 16th. Our President, Mark Rossi, supplied pictures of the original charter members in a power point presentation. Some of those original members are still part of our organization.

March has our members planning many fun activities as well. We recently had a bimonthly Lunch Bunch outing at Pietros # 2 restaurant in Vacaville planned by Pam Boes. Delicious! Also, our monthly card night is returning after a 2-month hiatus at Caroline Abughazaleh’s home. This fun evening includes food as well as a variety of card games including Briscola, Burraco, 3 – 13, and Kings in the Corner.

Quest´anno la Pasqua arriva prima. Desideriamo augurare a tutti una Bouna Pasqua.
