Hanford Lodge #1543 was represented at the Grand Lodge of California Sons & Daughters of Italy  Convention held at the Sonesta Hotel at LAX in June!!   Delegates were: President Michael Leoni, Louise (Lulu) Silacci, & Jackie Giacomazzi.  The Grand Lodge celebrated its 100th Anniversary at this event. Louise Tesoriere & her granddaughter, Annamarie Gallardo (2018 Miss America)  with her husband Carlos & sons,

We installed our new President at our meeting dated July 20, 2025.   Michaelynn Minicucci has been a member in good standing for many years and has serve our club in different capacities as an officer.  We welcome her with open arms and wish her well as our new President.

The Joanne Coccia Lodge #2553 will award scholarship to twelve deserving students.  They will receive between
$1,500 to $2,000 depending on funds available.  We congratulate them on completing their education and getting their degree.  Following is a list of the students, their major, and the sponsor’s memorial name:

I have been at the office this week

As everyone reads this, the State Officers and Delegates are getting ready to go to our convention. I hope to see many of you there. Not only is it convention, but we will also be celebrating our 100th Anniversary for the Grand Lodge of California.

The Hotel has worked very hard to give us a good rate and what looks to be a great menu for our events. For those who aren’t delegates, you are welcome to come and sit in the convention hall with the guests

I want to start my final monthly Il Leone article as Vice President of Northern California with a Huge “Grazie a Tutti.” For forty-one issues, I’ve sat at this desk and tried to put down in words things that I’ve thought were important to my fellow Italians, and all the eighteen Lodges in Northern California as well as their activities at the Lodges located from Klamath Falls, OR, to San Francisco, CA and then to Reno & Sparks, NV.
